50. Hawaii Day 11 - Pearl Harbor

Sense of awe and patriotism are visible when walking around the various memorials at the Pearl Harbor - USS Missouri, USS Arizona in particular.

Exhibits, structures and presentations are quite well done and informational. Somehow I am not sure if I visited this site to pay respect to those who lost their lives or simply see it as a tourist. Nevertheless was in awe of the Tree of Life that is meant "to be a symbol of renewal to inspire contemplation in visitors".

49. Hawaii Day 10 - Teddy Bear

Don't we all love teddy bears? They come in different shapes and sizes and tend to bring a smile on our faces - as if to relive some of those childhood pretend-plays. Hence visiting the Teddy Bear Museum in Waikiki was fun - and no, not for the kids but it was the older ones like us who had a share of laughter with all the teddies around -

48. Hawaii Day 09 - Sunrise

While the sunset can have its own impact, after a very long time, I indulged in the sunrise! This one infact left an even more deeper impression in my mind. The effort of waking up at 3 am, driving two hours to the summit at the Haleakala National Park (Maui) with an elevation of 10,000 feet and near-freezing temperatures due to the wind-chill - all of this combined could simply not take away the thrill of that orange lining over the clouds.

Its effects still linger on - the longing to watch the Sun rise, its anticipation, the quietness that surrounds that time of the day, the feeling that the world is hanging on just for this moment and that impression where possibilities are limitless. It surely is a memorable experience.

There is something amazingly calm and pleasing about sunsets - feeling of being blessed and thankful to be able to witness this daily phenomenon and of being stress-free too!

45. Hawaii day 06 - Rainbow and Merry Christmas!

I would like to share this rainbow photo that I took from outside our room here in Maui, Hawaii. This state is known as the land of rainbows - everyday you can easily spot a rainbow. While the locals may consider it as a daily occurrence, to me it symbolizes a sign of magic when the path between Heaven and Earth meet.

An eight-feet high banyan tree imported from India in 1873 and planted in West Maui - now turns into a twelve-trunk, 60-feet high Mutant tree! Was quite a unique site that simply blended into front street here in Maui, Hawaii.

40. Wagon-Wheel Effect

I googled this word today to define clearly what this photo meant. I intended to simply click the view of Maui Island of Hawaii from up in the air, but what I saw through my lens is indeed this 'wagon-wheel effect'. And while at it, managed to get a glimpse of the 365-degree-rainbow too!
